Foundayo (orforglipron) is a once-daily GLP-1 receptor agonist tablet for weight management, made by Eli Lilly and licensed in the UK in August 2026. It works in the same way as weekly weight-loss injections, reducing appetite and helping you feel fuller for longer, but is taken as a small tablet each morning with no injections and no refrigeration.

Orforglipron mimics the gut hormone GLP-1, slowing stomach emptying and acting on appetite centres in the brain. In clinical trials, adults taking the highest dose alongside diet and lifestyle changes lost an average of around 12% of their body weight over 72 weeks.

Treatment starts at 0.8mg once daily and is increased in steps (2.5mg, 5.5mg, 9mg, 14.5mg) up to a maximum of 17.2mg, at intervals of at least one month, depending on how well it is tolerated. Each pack contains 30 tablets, one month's supply.

Adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related health condition. It is prescribed only after an online consultation reviewed by our UK-registered independent prescriber.

Nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, indigestion and reduced appetite are most common, particularly when starting or increasing the dose, and usually settle within a few weeks.
